The Motion Weekly is a showcase of awe-inspiring short films, animation, incredible live-action, motion design, outstanding cinematography, and wicked cool experimental works. Oeil Pour Oeil
The first short this week is from 2019 that came out of the ESMA art school. It's a hilarious and brilliantly paced animated short, with a bit of a video game vibe.

A one sighted pirate captain keeps going on a journey to get a treasure, everytime with a new crew of pirates as one sighted as he is.
Vending Machine
This second piece is heartbreaking, and a bit disturbing, but speaks to societal issues. It's a brilliant film from the South Korean CK Animation School.
The front of station, with full of busy people walking by, and women inside of the vending machines placed in long line, and troublesome customers who are trying to use those machines.
Heart of Gold
This next piece from Amber Avara is wonderful, with a great story and brilliant character design.
A young woman cruelly rejected by her church seeks the assistance of an exiled necromancer to help her create the perfect offering to win her priest over. Official Selection in the 3rd LA Student Film Festival (2021)
This was the film I storyboarded and directed for my final year at Art Center College of Design. I am so immensely grateful for the help and support of my classmates and friends during the production of this film, I definitely couldn't have done it without them.
The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore
This last piece I hadn't seen in quite some time, but recently showed up in my feed. It's a 2011 short film directed by William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, and produced by Moonbot Studios. It's an incredible story, and won an Oscar in 2012. I just had to include it in case there are some who hadn't seen this beautiful film, which combines hand-drawn animation and miniatures to tell the story.
