Escape Motions is a small studio of creatives hard at work developing digital art software that is really very unique. The founder of Escape Motions, Peter Blaškovič, once said that "everyone can be an artist, we just need the tools which become the inspiration for creativity." And with what they offer, they are well worth the look.
To give it to you briefly, their software offerings are: Rebelle 3, which is a watercolor and wet media painting software that is ultra-realistic; Amberlight 2, for mind-blowing computer generated imagery and animations; Inspirit, for creating beautiful mandalas and kaleidoscopic art; and Flame Painter 3, which is a unique design/painting app with wonderful particle brushes.
It was recently announced on the Escape Motions blog that Flame Painter 4 will soon be released, and oh, what a rollout of incredible new features! Seriously, this new version is looking incredible. It's been ten years now since the first line of code was written for this software, and it certainly has come a long way. You can take a gander at the Escape Motions blog here to learn more, but I will give you some of the highlights:
New Particle Systems - While the previous version's Flame, Follow, and Ribbon particle systems have been re-written and updated, there are three new particle systems coming for version 4 (as a separate purchase): Liner, Fuzzy, and Elastic. Liner, for lines, trails, streaks; Fuzzy, for clusters of abstract particles; and Elastic, for elastic behavior and soft-body effects. While these are already cool, there is a new Brush Creator in version 4, so you can create your own brushes.
Import Vector Paths - Just import an SVG file and whatever brush you choose will automatically be applied to the imported vector paths!
Symmetry Tool - Now you can create stunning symmetrical artwork!
Advanced Palette Panel - Exciting new options for color...AND, you can create your own gradients!
Other new features are the Canvas Size Tool, Selection tool, Pick Color tool, Filter Menu, Navigator Panel, and so much more!
By the looks of the new features, Flame Painter 4 is surely going to be a great addition to any creative's digital toolset. I implore you to have a look at the Escape Motions website and check out the blog posts detailing new features coming in Flame Painter 4!
