HP has just launched the newest members of its Z Workstations family: the ZBook 14u and 15u G5, powered by AMD's brand-new Radeon Pro WX 3100. Bringing workstation-grade graphics performance, features, and stability for today's leading D&M apps, the Radeon Pro WX 3100 offers professionals a mobile workstation that can handle the toughest workloads while on the go.
Complete with up to 1.07 TFLOPS, 2GB GDDR5 memory and a 128-bit memory interface, the Radeon Pro WX 3100 enables stunning visual accuracy and advanced features, including:
- Faster performance in today's top CAD applications like Autodesk Revit, Siemens NX and SOLIDWORKS when compared to previous generation graphics cards.
- Precise 3D performance with GPU-accelerated occlusion culling, thereby only drawing visible elements to better gauge performance when orbiting, panning or zooming in on a model in applications like Autodesk Revit.
- Accurate pixel and geometry representation for complex models in design applications such as PTC Creo and SOLIDWORKS, as well Autodesk Revit when tasked with hardware acceleration. Unlocking features such as Order Independent Transparency (OIT) enables a more practical, transparent 3D viewpoint for designers, ultimately improving their decision-making throughout the product development process.
Paul Grimston, Excitech technical consultant and both a Revit power user and advanced trainer, stated, "The performance of this HP mobile workstation gave results far above what I expected from Revit on a mobile workstation. It easily coped with the largest of project files, so no need to worry about splitting up models. AMD graphics allowed for a responsive viewport with minimal dropout and strong interaction when in 3D walk mode. The model redraw was instant even in Realistic shading mode. In short, this is a great system for when you're onsite."
