The Motion Weekly is a showcase of awe-inspiring short films, animation and motion graphic works from around the web. Some pieces featured have been created by professional studios, while others may be personal works. May this weekly segment serve to inspire you.
Bendito Machine V
This wonderful, award-winning, series of shorts started ten years ago (April 2006), and have been screened at over 500 film festivals worldwide. With a look that borrows from the 'shadow plays' of old, each short is incredibly imaginative and shows a love-hate relationship between primitive man and surreal machines. The final episode is currently in the works, but they need your help. Please consider lending support to their Kickstarter campaign.
Finally, the 5th installment of the machine's saga!
"An exotic traveler from far away. An unexplored territory. A turbulent conflict. The storm will pass."
Visit our Kickstarter campaign and find out how to help us with the production of the final Bendito Machine episode!

Have I mentioned how much I love Stop-Motion films yet? This incredible, award-winning film has some CGI elements in it as well, but the amount of work that went into creating the scene and props, and then getting the shots, is astounding. Please do check out the excellent 'Making Of' video to really get a sense of what went into this project.

Ma'agalim - Jane Bordeaux
This music video for Jane Bordeaux is both beautiful and original. A great concept that absolutely sings! From the fine details in the 3D modeling to the individual shots and lighting, I am blown away.
Official music video for Jane Bordeaux's 'Ma'agalim'. In a forgotten old penny arcade, a wooden doll is stuck in place and time.

George Saunders: On Story
Admittedly, I've never read anything from George Saunders, but I loved what he had to say in this short film about storytelling. Aside from that, this short just looks and feels incredible. Very well done. I'll certainly be following Redglass Pictures.
Originally launched on the Atlantic.com A Film by Tom Mason and Sarah Klein Executive Produced by Ken Burns
In this rare appearance as a documentary subject, George Saunders reveals the pitfalls of bad storytelling and explains the openness and generosity required to breath life into great characters. The film offers a direct look at the process by which he is able to take a single mundane sentence and infuse it with the distinct blend of depth, compassion, and outright magic that are the trademarks of his most powerful work.
Situated in an innovative and dreamlike visual world set to a lush original soundtrack by Antfood music, the seven-minute film distills the magical essence of one of our most beloved writers into a work that will inspire old fans and Saunders newbies alike.
