The Motion Weekly is a showcase of awe-inspiring short films, animation and motion graphic works from around the web. Some pieces featured have been created by professional studios, while others may be personal works. May this weekly segment serve to inspire you.

The Safegate Effect

This is a cool motion graphic piece from Upper First. I really love the shapes, colors, and lighting effects employed in this.

With a graphic style and a cinematic approach, we are telling the story about Safegate Group, a global company that wants to solve future challenges of air traffic expansion at airports. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight.

Client: Safegate Group
Concept & direction: Upper First
Production: Upper First
Lead animator: Thiago Steka
Illustrations by Eric Pautz, characters by Mariana Ikuta

Upper First is a studio aimed at producing visual FX, motion graphics and film for the growing digital and new media market. We are six founding members sharing a mutual interest in design, direction and visual production.

A wonderful, trippy ad for a Dutch music festival.

Palmipedarium

Excellent story and animation work.

Top 10 Title Sequences of 2015

I love film title sequences. They serve to establish the mood of the film that follows, and in some cases are even more interesting than the film itself. Thanks to the incredible work of graphic designer, Saul Bass, whose original title design work that began in the 1950's brought the title sequence out of its original static look that was once largely ignored.

One of my favorite websites to visit is Art of the Title, and thought I would include their picks of the best title sequences of 2015.
