We are very proud to announce that Renderosity Magazine has a new Editor-in-Chief. She is Michelle Willard. Michelle has a strong journalism and social media background working for media outlets in the greater Nashville area. Michelle has been helping to promote Renderosity and Renderosity artists in recent months by promoting some feature interviews with artists to personalize some of the bigger names within Renderosity with the community.
As Renderosity Magazine's new leader, Michelle will be re-imagining the goals for the website and will work to refine our news and articles to fit with what our readers are interested in. She'll also be helping to make the website more accessible and easier to use. Her first article at the magazine is Muwawya ALhamadi battles bombs for art, a fascinating look at a Syrian artist's effort to cope with the crises in his homeland by learning and creating digital art.
Michelle took time out from her busy schedule at Renderosity.com to respond to a few questions about herself and the future of Renderosity Magazine.
Interview with Michelle Willard, Editor-in-Chief of Renderosity Magazine
Renderosity Magazine: Tell us about yourself and your background.
Michelle: I live in Nashville, which is just down the road from the Renderosity home office. I grew up here and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) with degrees in anthropology and mass communication.
For the past 10 years, I've written for and edited newspapers; first with an alternative weekly, The Murfreesboro Post, and then with The Daily News Journal, which is part of the USA Today Network. Over my journalism career, I've covered government, education, business and crime.
My favorite stories to write are always about people. I love to learn surprising things about people. Everyone has a story to tell.
I'm looking forward to learning more about digital art and people who create it
What have you been doing at Renderosity.com?
Michelle: Since April I have been working with the crew at Renderosity to help promote their vendors and artists. I've interviewed people from all over the global about why they love digital art and how they make a living doing what they love. Some of those articles will be featured on the magazine site in the coming weeks.
What kinds of things can see at the magazine in the future?
Michelle: We are working on a site redesign and are always on the hunt for more amazing content that features art and artists.
