Lenovo issued the following statement about a voluntary recall of 5th generation ThinkPad X1 Carbons:
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lenovo is voluntarily recalling selected ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th Generation laptops manufactured between December 2016 and October 2017. Lenovo has determined that a limited number of systems may have an unfastened screw in the affected laptops that can damage the battery causing overheating, potentially posing a fire hazard.
