Jenny Erdmann (Redphantom): "Art is a chance to express yourself creatively"

When we hosted the Poser Caption Contest, Redphantom was chosen as the winner. So, I decided to interview her about her artist background.
What brought you to Renderosity?
I was part of another online community and one of the members linked to an image she'd posted on Renderosity. I started exploring the site and was quite impressed with what I saw.
How has art changed your life?
I have Borderline Personality Disorder and art is therapy for me. I have a tendency to dwell on problems and magnify them as I do. A simple paper cut in the morning becomes gangrene by evening, in my head. Art is a distraction that stops the cycle.
What is it about art that you love?
I like that there is no wrong way to do it. Someone may not care for a style or a specific work of art but that doesn't make it wrong. When I work with children and we're doing art someone will ask if they can do something a little different. I always nod and say that it's their artwork.
What does art mean to you?
Art is a chance to express yourself creatively.
How did you become so passionate about art and why?
I think my mom and her dad both had a big influence on me.
My grandpa would often tell stories to me and my brother and sister when we were little. He'd make them up as he went along and they were often rather elaborate.
My mom is quite artistic and we set aside one night a week to do art together. We still try to get together to do something.
