Fall filled with game development conferences

The IndieCade Festival will celebrate independent games in October in LA.

A half dozen game development conferences are taking place this fall in places as far flung as Los Angles and Slovenia.

If you're looking for opportunities to rub elbows with other developers, take a look at this list.

IndieCade Festival 2017

Oct. 6 - 8 | Los Angeles, USA

The IndieCade Festival will celebrate independent games for its 10th annual conference. IndieCade is held each October in the Los Angeles area and is open to the industry and to the public.

IndieCade offers a unique opportunity to play and preview more than 200 of the latest indie games from around the world. Attendees enjoy games, talks, and events with both creators of new titles, as well as legends from across the industry.

GameForce 2017

Sept. 30-Oct. 1 | Nekkerhal, Mechelen, Belgium

GameForce is Belgium's largest games show, where attendees can developers of games both large and small. There will also be representatives from hardware firms, as well as merchandise to browse.

Slovenian Games Conference

Saturday, Sept. 30 | Ljubljana, Slovenia

SGC will feature an indie expo, which will create great opportunities and a place to network. All indie games, presented in the Indie Expo Area will be competing for the Indie Audience Choice Award.

The event will focus on a number of activities that together represent a process of video game development. Technical development, design, marketing, art and PR experts will hold lectures and multiple Slovenian and foreign indie studios will present their products to the visitors.

Participants are welcomed to test, give feedback and chat with the presenters and developers.

Future Games Summit 2017

Oct. 31-Nov. 1 | London, UK

Future Games Summit will bring together creative artists, developers, producers and business leaders for two days of Future Tech, Future Business, and Future Develop.

The 2017 conference will focus on current trends and challenges of the industry with representatives from Nintendo, Fireproof Studios, Sony, GfINITY, Xbox and more.

GetIT! 2017

Sept. 2 | Odessa, Ukraine

The annual Get IT! conference will bring together more than 500 game industry professionals from all around the globe.

Among the key features of the conference is an agenda that includes keynotes, interactive workshops and involving presentations from game development industry leaders, experts and skillful professionals in programming, art, game design, publishing, marketing and business development.

The traditional part of the conference is Get IT! Indie Prize -- a competition among indie game developers. Creators of the best projects will show their games at Get IT! Indie Prize Showcase and have a chance to get the awards and valuable prizes.

In 2017, for the very first time, Get IT! will give Unity developers the opportunity to validate their knowledge and programming skills and earn a professional credential taking the Unity Certification exam at the special reduced price.
