Autodesk Developing New Render Engines

Autodesk Developing 2 New Render Engines

From Cadalyst.com article by Randall S. Newton, we learn that Autodesk is developing 2 types of ray-tracing render engines. This comes on the heels of Autodesk acquiring and developing cutting-edge rendering technology.

The first type of render engines is an in-house renderer, Autodesk Raytracer, is being included in AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, and Showcase. A version of Raytracer is in development for 3ds Max and will be released in 2016. And the second type of renderer is Autodesk's VRED, a real-time, standalone renderer designed to be used primarily in Autodesk Alias industrial design software.

2016 looks to be a good year for rendering tools in all 3d applications. It will be exciting to see what Autodesk brings to the table with their remarkable development team. Stay tuned for more info and perhaps a review in the coming months at Renderosity Magazine.
