Epic released on Tuesday a new compositing tool inside Unreal Engine 4.17 that enables users to composite real world images or video footage with CG imagery in real time.

Called Composure, it allows results to be seen in the viewport with no waiting to see how things will look once rendered like with traditional film tools.

Using the Composure plugin, the project includes AR functionality such as different compositing modes according to streamed input textures; primitive compositing mode (lit rendering, hidden shadow caster and receiver); lens distortion; chromatic aberration; and many other features. Pipeline assets can simply be imported into your project to be customized to your needs.

This example places special focus on how to structure Blueprint assets to have easy-to-maintain interactivity with the compositing pipeline of your scene.
