Apple to Announce New Macbook and Macbook Pro
It's been six long years since the Macbook has been significantly upgraded. This is an eternity in the world of computer hardware. Apple has decided that it's time to offer a brand-new version of its Macbook and Macbook Pro laptops in a big "Hello Again" presentation starting at 10am (pacific time) on Thursday, October 27.
I've been using dual PC and Macbook Pro setup for the last year and I much prefer the Macbook Pro. Although its not a rendering beast like my PC, for nearly 90% of everything else, the Macbook Pro is so easy to use and very, very mobile. I'm slowly starting to move the majority of my work to the laptop now.
But to the point: the value of a Macbook stays quite high, so waiting for prices to go down in order to save money does't really work with Apple products. Since these new laptops will have the most up-to-date hardware, they will be much faster. Although it's rumor at this point, the new Macbooks will also have innovative technology like an OLED touch-bar (instead of the traditional F series keys), faster and longer battery life, a new, thinner chassis and much more. See appleinsider.com for more specifics.
I plan on buying a new Macbook Pro 13" with retina display and will be reviewing it in the coming weeks.
You can watch the presentation live tomorrow (Thursday, Oct 27) via the events page of Apple's website.
